Lobuche summit day

Our alarm woke us at 2am. We started our summit bid with head torches shining through the clear and calm of the cold night. After hours of hard slog, always upwards, finally gained the summit at 10:30 in the morning. A wonderful sight. Looking down at the world below, with spectacular views across to Everest. What a fantastic feeling, especially after those awful days – now literally on top of the world.
