KYAJO RI BASE CAMP

A hard and sometimes precarious slog today. The route up to the base camp was long, hard and sometimes rather scary.

Some steep faces, long traverses, sometimes with some serious consequences if one slipped. I didn’t, so eventually arrived into this deep valley for another never-ending but easy walk up to “Base Camp”.

Was a nice flat spot at the base on the valley floor but right in front of us was this granite rock step, or wall! Looked 500 metres high and vertical!! I started to worry!!
